Need help ASAP....Subframe Insert Install

I'm in the middle of my Subframe Bushing Insert install and ran into a problem....I have everything off and had the new bushings in, but now my subframe bolts aren't lining back up.

How do I move the sunbframe to get everything lined up?

The car is up on ramps and I don't have a lot of clearance. I tried using my long thick flat head to help move things, but it just won't budge. I have a pry bar but with the limited clearance I can't really use it.

I'm off by about 1/2inch.

If I can't figure out how to do it, Will it be ok to drive the car with the subframe not bolted in 1-2 miles to the nearby auto shop?

The rear tabs that go into the bushing is about 1/2nch off, so it doesn't line up. If you try jacking up the subframe...the tab will sit right on the edge of the insert...so it's about 1/2 off from seating into the insert.

I had the same problem, just keep fiddling with it and you will get it. I was ready to cuss and try stupid stuff, but took a break and was finally able to get it.

Lower the subframe by putting a jack under the diff and then slowly go down. Once down, you can push the subframe forward to line it up. Once line up, raise it up slowly.

How do you have the subframe bushing out with the car on ramps? I just jacked the rear up and removed the tires, then lowered the subframe.

That was my issue...I talked to Pete.

With the car on ramps, you can't move the subframe. I don't have a set of jackstands, so I put the car on ramps and lowered the subframe by taking out the bolts.

But if the car on the ground/ramps, you can't move the subframe. The wheels need to be off the ground floating. So, I'm on my way to get a set of jack stands to keep the wheels in the air then will get back under there and get that subframe lined back up.

I dont understand. Why would you try to do anything on your suspension without the tires off the ground and the car on Jack stands? Sounds pretty dangerous to me.

Had to wait a few hours for my wife to return with the jack stands

But once she did, I was done within minutes!
