Need a new windshield
I just found a 4 inch crack at the top of the passanger side of the windshield. Got out and looked at the top of the crack is an impact mark the size of a BB. But I remember hearing a loud snap while driving home from work on 495N friday night. I doubt it was a BB most likely a stone kicked up. But it will need to be replaced. Now any suggestions who to call? My insurance will pay 100% but I know it has to be HUD compatable.

I had a place in Billerica do two of my windows over the years. As long as they know you have the HUD, they should be able to get you the correct window.

I recently had the same problem, 3 months of owning my camaro. I went with Safelite, since my insurance company guaranteed their work. I was very picky in choosing which glass, and ultimatley went with Pilkington only. The pilkington glass is what is on most camaros, if not all, these days. the only difference is, is that on the OEM windshield, it will say gm, and pilkington. The aftermarket glass will say pilkington only. I am very pleased with my glass, and the install was clean and flawless, they came right to my work and replaced it in our garage.

Go to a dealer and have them get a factory windshield put on. They will use an aftermarket company to do the work, but will order GM glass themselves. you may even be able to choose the glass company they use. And it will still be covered by insurance.
If not that, I've used Giant multiple times with good results. |

Safelite has always been great. They replaced my truck windshield about a year ago. Last month it cracked again (rock again) they came out and replaced it for free even though it was obviously a rock that did it this time again.
We have been using them in our semi fleet for years. They are always great to work with and we have never had any issues with any of the glass. |

Safelite - and if you can leave it with them or wherever you have it done, don't move it for the day while the sealant sets up, you will not get any leaks.

Ask if our windshield have a film on the outside. Mines showing little specks like its been hit with sand. It hasn't of course, but in the right sun glare you can really see it. Not sure if you experienced that or not. Don't want to hijack your post

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I'm going to call around possibly order direct from a chevrolet dealer.
One-Bad-SS, I haven't noticed the issue you described on my windshield. My guess is that the combiner film/coating for the HUD is applied to the inside surface.
