Stay out of Amherst NY, they'll pull you over for breaking the "Noise Ordinance".
Asked me if I modified my exhaust, to which I replied "No... it's a brand new car, this is the way I got it".
Where did you get it ?, "I bought it from the Chevrolet Dealer here".
I was told to take it back to the Dealer and have them install some after-market device to quiet it down.
I didn't see any sound level meter, it's 90 degree's out and everyone's window's are closed with the AC on.
Really ? It was THAT loud ?
They better hand out a ticket to EVERY motorcycle in town then because they're 10 times louder.

If they didn't ticket you they probably couldn't, without a decibel meter it's all their opinion and won't hold up in court. I think GM probably complied with all noise laws lol.

Always wondered why murdercycles can be as loud as can be, but your car has to sound like a whispering wind

I have never heard a car on the street as loud as a Harley

It's a street legal vehicle, so I'd take that ticket to court for sure. No way they could find you guilty! Maybe just to be safe, have a Chevy service writer state/document that your vehicle is in GM specs without any modifications.

They also need to stop everyone with those loud thumping stereos. I have had them next to me so loud I couldn't hear my own radio.....with the windows up on both cars!

Motorcycles are loud so dumb drives in other vehicles know they are around since you can't see them all the time like you can a bigger vehicle. Loud pipes saves lives.
