ZL1 Grill; CF hydroed ACS T3 Ports
Finally finished painting my ZL1 grill (GMPartswarehouse) and installed it along with Trackspecmotorsports supplied T3 ports. They were one of
only two vendors I could find who had a set that were CF hydro-dipped. The other vendor charged $30 shipping so Trackspec it was! The LED DRL replacements are from Phasetek (also made by ACS) I did not want to pay $100 for ACS' mesh. I had a big roll of diamond mesh I got at an arts/crafts store, cut out a piece to fit, plasti-dipped it black, and glued it to the backside of the ports. I saw that the LEDs were coming loose when I uploaded the picture from the camera, that sucks but easy fix. Thanks to John at Track Spec Motorsports for letting go of their last set of carbon fiber ports (had to talk him into it). He mentioned they might make more if the demand was there. |

Are the LED's wired so they work as the daytime running lights or are they on a separate switch? Great work also!

I like the CF look on the ports.

Agreed. Very rare, could only find two sources: Trackspecmotorsports and this on ebay. Trackspec was cheaper though.

so you reconnect the leds to your drl wires? can you also have them to a switch so you can turn on yourself?

I haven't seen the harnesses that keep the DRLs on all the time so am not sure. With these LEDs you have to cut off the existing DRL "slot" harness and connect to a new two-pin harness (below). If the DRL conversion harness is supposed to be plugged into the existing OEM harness then it won't work with these LEDs since the female socket of the OEM harness is now replaced with this male 2-pin connector.
