Test drove an SS...
Test drove an SS model (L99) today. Loved the torque and overall power increase...sound wise...I can say its not that great stock so I know I'd have some work ahead of me. They wanted 32k (2010 w 9k miles) so I felt it wasn't worth it...If I find something cheaper I might take the leap...

Was it $32k asking? I would have offered $29,5 and see if they jumped, unless, of course, you want an '11 with HUD and the other 2011-specific amenities and fixes.

Yeah I think I'll hold out for a 2011 with the HUD...I saw a summit white 2010 with 30k for 27.5 I think I'll test it soon...

Did you call the police and report the attempted robbery? That's crazier than some of the unrealistic prices I've seen on here. Depending on your other requirements, You should have ZERO trouble finding a low mileage (15k or less) '10 SS on Autotrader for $26.5 - 27.5k.

Amazes me that anyone would even think of asking that much for a 2010, when you can order a new 1SS with a couple options for that. They made tens of thousands of them, so they're not collector cars... and by the time they are, all of the ones left still running will be collectible ('cause everything will be electric by then).

Honestly most SS prices I see are in the $29k-$31k unless they are higher mileage. Heck I see used LS's listed for just as much as what new goes for if not more. You should be able to find a better deal overall, think I would have tried to talk them down to a lower price, and if they and more than likely won't budge then walk away.

I've said this before and I'll say it again. My salesman buddy told me the best time to buy a Camaro is in the fall. Dealers don't want them setting on the lot all winter long. Makes sense to me.

Well, since you specified it was an L99... I'll be specific in suggesting an M6!
For starters... its much more fun to drive. Second, the exhaust sounds better. Third, it has an extra 26 HP. Of course it can't shift as fast as an auto.. but I doubt you'll be drag racing it. To each their own.. there are obvious good reasons to get an automatic! You won't regret it! |
