Cheap 20" rims for winter driving

I plan on getting winter tires and don't want the salt rusting out the Midnight Silver rims coming with my car. Is there a good website anyone knows of for such things?

I think you will see a lot on Tire Rack pretty soon. They don't list them until they have done the testing to make sure that the wheels are safe so it takes them some time after a car comes out to get a variety.

The problem isnt the rims. The problem for us North Easterners is there are no good All Season tires for this car. Its an odd size Chevy came up with. Good Year has nothing. My 2002 Camaro had Good Year as most chevys have had over the years. These Pirellis are not only useless in the snow, but every degree below 45 degrees makes the tires get worse.

Every new car I've bought has had a new oddball size tire on it. I swear they do it on purpose.

I'm in MD and am also concerned that summer tires are the only choice with the RS package - WTF?? Does Chevy think that we will all only drive this car on warm sunny days?

I already have one Camaro SS that is useless in the winter - don't know if I can justify a second one!

I was told by my dealer that because I ordered the RS package and the up grade to pollished I would get both. Because the dealer installs the upgrade.I will be selling the RS wheels minus rubber at cost of the up graded pollished 20s. About 500. Will post when recieved.

I was told my 1LT came with all season tires...is that different from what you guys have?? I was also told it is a good idea to buy a different full set of wheels for the winter so the ones with the car stay nice. What is the best route to go?

Are you serious? They're actually going to hand over the Midnight silvers to you after you install the polished?

That's if you order it right? That makes ordering much more economical than getting one off the showroom, since thats 1200 in rims to replace.

Hi Katie,

Yup yours would have come with All Season tires. Being you're in Wisconsin, snow tires would help more but it's up to you on your experience with driving in the snow. As for the a new set of rims, most of us dealing with the winter are trying to get different rims so the salt doesn't eat at our nice rims every winter.

If I were you, I would just wait a few months until more cars are produced. A lot of people with 1LT and 1LS cars will probably be putting on better rims. You should be able to pickup some of there old ones on this forum or craigslist, ebay for cheap.
