ZL1 vs. GT500 Dealer Markup (ADM)

Just wondering...

I recently spent months trying to find a 2013 GT500 at MSRP. I probably went though 20-30 dealers and ads on Cars.com and Ebay. A lot of dealers listed them as MSRP and when I called them, found out it was anywhere from $5-$25K over MSRP.

What is the most ADM you found on a ZL1? Did they have these issues as well?

I can tell you, I found several GT500s for over $100K, one for $119K. Hell, you could buy 2 GT500s for this price.

Do or did ZL1s suffer this same mark-up?

I went to a local Ford dealer to get a price on a 2013 GT500. He quoted $64,000.00. Then paused, and said "we then at $10,000.00 to that number". Without saying a word, I got up and walked out. I bought my ZL1 at MSRP.

....5-6 dealers I spoke with about a ZL1, the highest ADM was $15k, lowest was $2.5k.

when I was looking at the cars 2,500-10k was the ADM "those" dealers were charging.

I was able to find both cars @msrp and ended up getting my ZL1 at supplier. that was what finally tipped me in the direction. after my order got pushed to 2013 I was pissed off period. so I wend back out and re-shopped both cars.

GT500 with PP $58,450 ZL1w/suede and exposed carbo @ supplier $55,705

For me I don't get it to the chevy vs ford BS. it is more about what the car does and $$$. if I bought the GT500 I would be happy with the power but dislike the raw nature of the car at times. witht he ZL1 it drivers awesome but I want more power. ha ha.

I talked to quite a few dealersships ha ha. it did have to pay a $250 courtesy delivery fee from chevy. If I had found a GT500 at x-plan I might be over at the SVT forum measure penis size right now ha ha. Mine is really big by the way just in case someone might be questioning it.

Never considered the GT500, but as far as the ZL1 goes, the markup ranged between
$4K and $20K at 15 different dealerships in California and Arizona.

Nice find! I got tired calling around and getting the same ADM and about "limited edition" BS. I figure it won't be til early next year before we start seeing normal deals on ZL1s.

Also, you know what they say....."those who brag...."

I don't think they offer the x-plan on a GT-500. At least from everyone and a couple dealers I talked too.

I finally got mine at MSRP. I found it in Kansas, so I am paying a $400 coutesy delivery fee to get it here locally. Was cheaper than me flying there and driving 20 hours back.

I though it was on the sheet my buddie showed me in the system. been too long now. They would not go to that price though.

the price is usually in the system it is just whether or not a dealer will give it too you.

when you look at the printout from a dealers sytems MSRP, INVOICE, "PREFERED" (x-plan, freinds and family, suplier), EMPLOYEE pricing are listed there but they will not always let you have them.

The dealer wanted 5000 over when I first called (last day of the month). Two hours later I had it for 500 under msrp.

You guys are having better luck with the ZL1 than most of us are having with the GT500. Dealers think these cars are gold plated when is just another sports car on the lot.

I was able to go to my small town dealership and pick up a Z for MSRP. If you're looking for one, they can put in an order today for retail sold.
