Order Status @ 5000 but loose side panel after shipping - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Got a call at 2:30 pm that my car was on the transport truck in the dealer's lot.

While looking at the car, I was advised that a lower panel below the passenger door and just in front of the rear wheel was bulging out. It "appears" that the clips holding the panel on popped. The driver of the transport truck advised that he had seen 10 other Camaros with the exact same problem. :(

I am assured that it should not present a problem to correct and should not overly delay the delivery to me.

Anyone else been advised of this??

Maybe this too will be an easy fix.

First of that I have seen, I am sure it just snaps back in. Just get under it and check it over close before you sign anything!

Surprised that you were even told about it... Should be an easy fix to remove and reattach. Just make sure to check the bottom of it for cracks when you pick up the car, it may have been bottomed out on a loading ramp or something. Also give it a wiggle to make sure there aren't any broken clips. If you have either of these issues have the dealer order a new piece.

As to my being told, I am SO lucky that the employees at the dealership I am dealing with have been completely above board and totally transparent from the first meeting until now. It has really been refreshing (based on past experiences with some dealers).

Nice pix, but crappy problem. I bet they get a fix for it in no time like you'd never notice. I bet that if you weren't there....and pictures were never taken....it would have been fixed and you would never have known. I wouldn't be worried one bit. They will take care of you.
