Plasti dip question?

I have used plasti dip for several small things like tail light bezels and bowties. My question is, is it safe to leave plasti dip on your paint for long periods of time? Or will it damage your paint if it is left on for say a year? Just want to make sure I am not going to damage my paint by using plasti dip and leaving it long term. I had thought about using it to experiment with hood spears and such to see what look I like before buying permanent ones. Thanks for you feedback.

some of the vinyl hood spear packages I've seen don't cost tremendously more than 3M adhesive remover + plasti-dip, you may just want to buy a vinyl kit and try it out, if you like it you'll have a finished product, if not, peel and put it in the classified section to recoup some of the cost.

Does leaving plastidip on a car for long periods of time ruin the paint or peel the paint when you peel the plastidip off?

Did you install your hood spears yourself? If so, was it difficult?

I did not! but vinyl work was all I did in high school. we had a class for it and i was the top in the class. as long as it is a certain vinyl which i would imagine this vinyl is a 10-12 year exterior vinyl, you can spray water underneath it so you can move it around a bit to line it up correctly.

Use a soft squeegy to get all of the water and bubbles out and run the car (for the heat) for a while to make sure that it is completely dry. Will probably take a few days, just make sure noone touches it for a few days and you should be fine.

I did alot of my 87 Monte Carlo SS in vinyl and it turned out great. The bigger pieces are harder to do, and i did an 8FT in length 8IN in width section at a time.
