Is this new dash worth getting? Need opinions - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

I have been wanting to upgrade my 2010 Plastic dash since I got the car, and today I finally found a 2012 leather dash! the dash is a good price, but it is in rough shape. I was told that if I cleaned the dash it would look as good as new, but I am skeptical because the person selling it has the main goal of making money, and I don't want to get screwed with a piece of junk dash. Based on the pictures, do ya'll think that with a REALLY good clean, this dash could look great? Or do you think I should skip it and try to find one in better condition? I am having to base my decision on pictures alone, and so any opinions are appreciated!

I'm not sure what happened to the car, I am guessing it was totaled, because it is at some sort of impound yard. But Yeah, it is for sure in rough shape. The more I look at it the more I lean towards passing, but I am definitely gonna wait and think about it a bit more before deciding

...see if you can get the steering wheel controls. i'm sure you'd have use for those....well at least i would haha

Looks like flood damage.

But I don't get it, man, it just looks dirty to me? Like a car does after a week of rain.

I'd take it. A nice scrubbing with some degreaser and a terry cloth will probably make it look good as new. You know what you should do is bring over a terry cloth and some detail spray... give it some passes with that and if it cleans up good, you know it's worth it. 'Cause like I said it just looks dirty to me.

How much of a deal is it, exactly??

It looks like its just been rained on for a bit. Take some armor all and see what happens to a spot on the dash. If its good then it depends on price. Its only leather and should clean up nice as long as theres no cuts in it. My 2 cents anyways.

Any chance you can give it a "partial" cleaning prior to buying.....just so you know what it looks like with a little elbow grease

Adam's In and Out Spray will make that dash look like new, If it were me, I'd get it if there wasn't any damage.
