AFM issue???

I recently got a 2011 ss/rs convertable w/L99. Now that I have had it long enough to put a couple of hundred miles on it, I noticed a strange surging feeling in the seat of my pants while cruising at constant speed. It doesn't cause a change in speed but my RPM fluxuates a couple of hundred RPM. I have been reading about all the issues with AFM. Is that what I am feeling?? Almost like a miss or weak coil or something.

Now that I notice it, it bugs the S#!t out of me.

If it is my AFM, what tuner is recommended to get rid of that sucker....

It could be. When you give it gas and all the cylinders start firing again, do you hear a farting-type sound come out of the exhaust? One of the best things I did was have AFM tuned out...SO much better without it.

I haven't noticed one, but I will pay more attention. Don't hear a whole lot of anything but wind being a convertible and all...

Sounds like AFM.
You must be cruising right at an RPM where AFM is cutting in and out.
If you had an aftermarket exhaust, you would hear AFM (bad drone type sound) everytime it kicks in.

You running the cruise on flat road or is there hills? It's more than likely the AFM kicking in and out. Irritates the hell of you tell you get it tuned out.

I still had an issue with AFM even in M if the rpm's dropped to around 1500-1800. I cruised in 4 to keep the rpm's up on the long 55 mph stretches. FWIW.

Relatively flat. Does it with our without cruise. Cruising about 60 mph.

If you use the paddle shifters in M it shouldnt ever go into AFM... but im not about to start that debate again.

With the stock exhaust you wont hear it as much as you will actually feel it kick in. What your describing is "feeling it".

If you are going to tune it out, bye bye warranty. I'd recommend Ted Jannetty's tune via the SCT Hand Held. If you decide to do headers or a CAI through him down the road, the tunes will be free for those things since you alread have the SCT. That will save you about $500 right there...
