18inch Wheels/ Brembo Brakes

Hey guys,

I just purchased a set of the stock SS Brembo Brakes and I wanted to know if there are any 18inch wheels that can fit over them? I want to put on the smallest possible wheel size to reduce rotating mass. Whiteline had a great looking wheels, 18inches, but the brembos wouldn't fit behind them.

i believe with the right offset 18's will clear but you need to remove the roller skates off the brake pads. im sure someone will chime in with actual facts though lol

He's got a V6 Camaro (non Brembos) so he should be good if he gets the correct offsets.

But I just purchased a set of the V8 Brembo Brakes, so they do NEED to clear the larger size.

Yes, there are some 18" wheels that will fit over the SS brakes. Try...Forgestar F14 or CF5. Or TSW Nurburgring or Interlagos. Talk with one of the reputable C5 vendors, I'm sure they can hook you up with the proper sizes/offsets.

Sorry, I saw that right after I posted. Get aftermarket pads and you should be good (as long as you get the correct offsets).

I'd be glad to help. 18x9 and 18x10 Forgestar wheels clear the SS Brembos, but you'll need aftermarket brake pads without the rollerskate weights.

Thanks Tony! I am definitely going to get new pads (Hawk HPS). Will 18x9's fit all the way around?

I want to run the same tire size on all four corners. This is a daily driver that I take to autocross.

18x9 will fit all around. For auto-x, I'd probably go with 19x9.5 or 19x10 all around, and run a shorter tire like a 275/35-19 Nitto NT05. Check out this thread for two affordable auto-x combos. The 19" with shorter sidewalls is likely more responsive than some sloppy 18" wheel with a thick sidewall setup.

I have a tune for my car, so I can have the diameter of the wheels for my speedometer changed. So I was thinking of going smaller wheels (18inch) as well as lower profile tires.
