LS3 n L99

Trying to figure out the difference...might be going to dealership soon to look at a 2010 2SS I might possible trade in for.

I am taking a shot and guessing the LS3 is Manual and the L99 is Auto?
What are the HP output differences?

You are correct

LS3 - manual - 426hp
L99 - automatic - 400hp

Nice..Didn't really think would be a 26hp difference in them.
I really want to do this trade.

don't let the HP numbers seduce you, there are virtually neck and neck on the track and the auto will be more consistent, but you do have to live with AFM.

There are several differences, but the L99 can be just as fast, if not faster than the LS3. If you get the L99, you're definitely going to want to tune it. It has AFM (active fuel management) which basically makes the engine run on 4 cylinders a lot of the time. Dumb, dumb thing to have on this type of car.

Here is what I am currently looking at.

It is a toss up. They are both equally good. PS. I am fairly certain i have seen that car before and believe it was owned by a girl in New Port Richey lol. I live right near there myself.

i have heard negative things about stock l99, some being really "de-tuned" from factory. but heard they are monsters when tuned. but i think overall the engine doesnt matter, comes down if you want a manual or auto.

There are some great tuners here locally that can get you dialed in better than a mail order. Phil with Tampa Tuning could get you hooked up.

That is where I'd go, if I were anywhere near Tampa.
