They're filling chapter 11 but not going anywhere.

It's just internal restructuring in order to meet their goals.

If you can, watch CNBC all day Monday. They are following the events closely and devoting the majority of the day to GM. I would think that out of every talking head that they give TV time to on Monday, one of these poor fools will actually have good information.

I saw an article yesterday on Ford. They aren't doing so hot either and their suppliers are all having trouble.

The only reason Ford is doing so well is that they already secured big loans to keep them going before the Bank Fiascos and the credit crunch. If GM could have gotten a loan they would have without going through all the government hoops.

Ford mortgaged the entire company, including the Blue Oval, in order to prevent needing federal loans.

And if the US market doesn't crack 9.5 million units this year, Ford has already stated that they'll need federal loans.

Yes, thank you.
That's exactly what I was about to say.
It's like you read my mind.

^Too bad the general public doesn't know that. They see GM and Chysler file for Chapter 11 and associate them with failure.

I think Ford will be filing too, jsut give them time. Price of fuel going up no one is going to buy a new car, they won't have the money coming in to pay there payments, they will ask the goverment for the money and they will force them in the same boat to make them all equal.

Ok so ford mortaged their entire company so if they need a loan it will be hard to reach fords hands. On the other side chevy just needs money and could reconstruct. Ford must sell to save their lives.
