Would you buy a used camaro vs new?

I see there are always camaros for sale in the classifieds on here. Alot have put a lot of work and a lot of money, but the asking price is a few thousand less than a brand new camaro with a warranty.

Would you buy a used camaro that has or has not been modded or would you buy a brand new one with a warranty and mod it yourself?

I would buy a new one and mod it myself.

I bought a 2011, just the way I wanted, and its certified which will extended warranty past what a new car has. It has no mods.

I rather put the mods I want on it versus using someone else's. You don't know what they did, how they did it, etc.

I bought my 2010 used with 15K miles on it & couldn't be happier. The car was completely stock which is what I wanted. Buying used save me at least 5K compared to getting my car brand new with all the options it had. If you find private sellers that need the cash you can get some good deals. I will probably buy used forever.

Bought mine used, stock as well. Love making it my own, plus the fact that I too, saved a few thousand over buying new. Haven't had one issue with it (except for some TSB issues that were taken care of by the dealership.) Still had plenty of warranty left on it too. I don't think I'd buy brand new again. Plenty of used cars out there that are just like new for a lot less $$.

Nope I wouldn't buy used. People will mod them, beat the crap out of them, put them back so they look stock and get rid of them. No thanks!

I'd have to say, if I had the $$ to buy a ZL1, or a Vette, I'd buy new. Otherwise, a low mileage used with factory warranty left on it will be fine with me.

My 1LT/RS was brand new and my 2SS/RS was barely used with just over 5200 miles, all stock. Couldn't be happier!

I would buy used. I would not be happy about the big hit for depreciation right off the bat. Of course, when I return to the US this December, I am probably going with a grand sport over either a new or used camaro.

I bought used LT because I want a Synergy Green Metallic and they no longer are making them. The SS was purchased new.

Stock non modified probably yes if low miles. Modified I would never buy used. Most are problem childs from bad mods or beat to crap hide the issue or temp fixed trade-ins.

I know many people that beat to snot their cars and than trade them in. Most have hidden trans\engine issues that have hidden rigged fixes to just get it to the dealer for trade. Some are so well hidden that they get passed the dealer inspection or the normal private buyer.

As the saying goes your just buying somebody elses headache when buying used.

depends on your long term goals. If you dont care for a warranty and plan for internal Mods, you may want to look at used.

I just bought my 2010 Yellow 2LT RS used with 11000 miles. It was owned by a senior citizen who took great care of it. It was the exact model & color I've been looking for & I save $7000 over a new 2012. It looks brand new & I couldn't be happier. Also I really enjoy this forum!!!

Not knocking ya but I hear that from every dealer salesman I ever met. 1 owner and he was a senior citizen dont mean crap to me.

Get a car fax and it turns out to be 3 owners and all in their 30's.
