Just purchased AGM ZL1, window tint question
Just purchased my 2013 Z after trading in my 2 month old 2012 charger SRT. Yes it was an expensive lesson, never stray away from Chevy. Question for you guys who have tinted windows. Does the rear deck shelf have to be removed prior to tint. Seems like minimal room for the tint man to do his thing. Thanks in advance.

No it does not need to be removed. If your tint guy is complaining about there not being enough room I'd find a new tint guy.

My guy did it with no problem. It took him a min to get it perfect but 20% all around makes the AGM Z look beast

I've already made 2 mistakes going with a different tint guy from my Vette days. Had to have this guy redo both but it seems there is no room at all to work with due to the large hump in the middle of the shelf. I'm assuming that's where the sub fits under. I guess I'll have to bring it to him and see what he says

FYI...
I saw the tint job on 1MntGoat's ZL1. He ONLY did the side windows to legal dark limit and I can tell you that it looks awesome. He mentioned that in the past he has had rear windows done that prematurely look "fuzzy".... maybe due to the defrosting bars, dunno. But... I have had the same happen to me. Therefore, and AFTER seeing what his looked like with just the side windows done, that's what I'd do. That rear Camaro window is a pain to reach, has lots of defrost wires, and with the sides done, you don't really notice the back is not done. And it helps maintain visibility. You can get the sides done under $100! And, can always add back window if you don't like it. |

3M crystalline 50% all around with 70% on windshield on summit white looks amazing imo.
You get incredible heat rejection and visibility is fantastic. |

Just make sure you check to see what's legal in Jersey, some cops will pull you over just because they're tinted even if they are legal. I am still toying around with doing it, just because of that reason. here is a good site to check Jersey http://www.tintlaws.com/
