Question why is the Edelbrock Supercharger not so popular?

just out of curiosity.... i see many Maggies, Whips and Pro's but not so many EForce Chargers... are they crap?

All of the others are just much better units.

An installer friend of mine told me it has to do with the compromised length of the air pathway or something. As a result of the desire to make it fit under a stock Vette hood, it's power potential is limited when compared to other units.

And don't forget, its ugly. If you want a blower that looks like an engine cover, its right up your alley!

They were late to the market in the 2.3L arena. When Whipple hit the market, they came with the larger 2.9L to pull people away from the 2.3L units, and it worked.

It's not a bad system, by no means a great system either. The look is a big turnoff for me, that is why I went with a Maggie. Plus, the fuel starvation issue scared me off.

I am by no means saying the Edelbrock is better or worse than other makes, but there is a lot of bad information here. Looks are completely a matter of taste. As for performance, I made 615 rwhp and 640 lbs torque with an eforce and headers on my otherwise stock LS2. This on a safe tune and totally reliable for many thousand miles. I havent seen other makes make drastically more power or go much faster in the quarter with the same mods. That said, with a vette I was more limited in choice. You have to go with what pleases you.

It just looks like a more cost effective way to reach 600whp... as far as looks go... its not a showstopper but effective

With the same mods and boost level ALL of the 2.3's make basically the same power. Ted Jannetty says this himself. The reason I went with the e-force is because it makes THE most low end torque out of all the blowers and since my car is mostly a street car and its a 4000lb car I wanted the torque down low.

Around 2400-2600 I make peak torque while still making peak horsepower at redline. The tq / hp curves on the dyno sheet are very smooth. And personally I think its the best looking blower on the market. I dont like the big bulky looking blower sitting on top of my engine I really like the subtle look of the e-force. Also the flatness of the blower makes for a good spot to set your beer while working on the car, which is just an added bonus.

Pic related.
