That is pretty cool. The lighter the better.

Smaller and lighter could put me in a 6th gen, but I love my 2010.

Hell if this works and we get more aluminum in the car I wouldn't mind a weight of 3200lbs

The 6th gen is also supposed to be on the new Alpha platform for midsize/compact cars that the new ATS Caddy is going to be on. This should help keep weight down as well. Starting off on the right platform helps a ton. Currently, the 5th gen is on the Zeta platform which is mainly a full size sedan platform. I'd like to see it around 3400lb range. That way the real hardcore crowds can get near that 3000lb range. As long as there is room under the hood a smaller platform is more then welcome.

Absolutely. I looked at an ATS last night and based off of the size of that car the Gen 6 will definitely have a smaller footprint. Oh, and the official curb weight of the ATS, a luxury sedan, is 3315 lbs..

Doesn't the V6 version with MRC weigh into the mid or upper 3,400 range?

I do agree though that a less equipped or base ATS weighs less than 3,400.

I love Alpha
