I changed my mind already, I might buy a used AVIS when they sell them.

Probably a bad idea to buy a rental but, if the $$$ is right we might dance.

That's funny. I called a bunch of Avis locations in NYC, Long Island, and NJ last month and they had nothing. I got my car over the weekend and now they're available.

I talked to the station manager at the SFO Avis and they were told they were getting their Camaros early June. She wasn't sure if that meant that most all the other high demand locations would have their's by then as well. Hoping they will have them at the Minneapolis Airport in 2 weeks so I can get my Camaro fix.

How long do you think they will keep them before selling them as used? 2+ years?

I rented the Camaro last weekend in Chicago. The Avis at O'hare had about five of them on the lot when I got there last Friday. I was surprised when I asked that all of them were available.

They didn't seem to have any SS models, only LS and LT on the lot. Nonetheless it was worth it to rent the car for a few days.

I ended up on I-294 racing some guy in a 370Z for a few miles and the LS held its own. Car has sick acceleration even though it sometimes feels heavy.

maybe this has been answered before in another thread but how much did you pay a day to rent? Thanks!

I believe they are 200 a day on the weekend and 140 during the weekday...at least that's what they are charging here in Indianapolis....however there are crazy tax and fees added too so I think it is about 172 for the weekday and around 240 for the weekend......very pricey.

Optical,
total bill was a little less than $250 for 48 hours. That includes full insurance.

That's a good deal...best you can get here is 121 with a AAA membership without the insurance.

Get the insurance....

Just so there is extra coverage in case some idiot totals the car. We saw it happen once when that kid without license did the rear ending. Thank goodness the member is ok.
