thinking of painting grill bowtie, looking for pro advice
is this a good idea or bad idea. I'm not a fan of the gold, I'd actually like to paint it back due to the lack of any aftermarket replacements right now.
think it would look good, bad, embarassing? |

Ive been thinking of not painting the bowtie.. but tinting it!
Using window tint to agressively darken the gold and chrome. Not sure if it can be done cleanly (getting the angles) but I'd like to look at the option. This way, you're not trying to hide it.. but tone it down, and have it blend more with the darkness of the grill. Understand that what's done to the front would have to be done with the back. Just a thought to which I have yet no results to go by. J

I don't mind the back one, it's not surrounded by black.

Not to threadjack or anything, but I have a similar question. I was wondering if anyone knew how to color the bowtie, but keep that "texture" that the gold one has.

I was thinking about taking a small brush and applying a couple layers of modelling paint. Just not sure, don't want to make it look like crap.

Pictures of said vinyl? The Bowties really do need to be offered in various colors.

I'd hope someone would offer the vinyl though so people didn't have to go painting their originals. There really shoulda been a Camaro, RS, or SS emblem in those spots.
