Maybe GM has allowed us to languish figuring that that we would be one of the few real customers to buy a car from them after bankruptcy. I came accross this last night- 78% of the general public (unlike us on this forum) are unlikely to even consider a GM car now that bankruptcy has been declared.

Oh yeah, one caveat to keep in mind if buying a GM off the lot this week....resale value of GM cars as a whole will decline...

According to Automotive Leasing Guide, the resale value of a Chrysler vehicle dropped six percent in the week following the company's Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing....

All the more reason to put the cars in the hands of people that will make the effort to show the car to the general public. We are the ones that will get the folks into the dealerships, not some ad in the local newspaper.

I am in total agreement. Best marketing is grassroots from the heart of us who remember the great cars GM used to make- and still can.

Wonder if this will stop the stupid market adjustment or drive it higher,I read that depreciation will go to 30% when you drive off the lot now,whether the Camaro is an exception to that rule is unclear to me right now,in the future if the Camaro sells well the value won't hold for people hoping to make money off this car and it could be a GTO repeat

I haven't been able to help market one, still not yet built. But I sure will, one day and I will be singing the praises of GM.

this is the reason I'm waiting to get mine until around September or later...I was going to order one and still really really want to, but by then they'll have a bunch at dealers cause not a lot will be buying. The mark up won't be there and I'll get my GMS discount. I saw a SS at a dealership for $62,000!!! That's rediculous!!

i think the 30% depreciation would be correct on every GM product other than the Camaro. supply and demand will still rule.

some folks are banking the Camaro wont last a year in production, which will send Camaro values thru the roof.

i myself, being a GM guy, am averaging 2 new GM vehicles per year. i also have no plans to stop doing this..........GO GM!!!!
