RPMs sometimes drop to 400 while stopped

I have a 2012 LT manual and sometimes when I'm stopped at a light the RPMs will dip to about 400 for a second or two then pop back up to the regular 800 or so. The engine makes a slight shuddering sound at the same time. It happens when I'm in neutral or in 1st with the clutch in (I think), but always while the car is not moving. Dealer says they don't know what the problem is

Anyone have this issue?

Thanks

I would like to research the concern that you may be having a little bit further. If you could please send me any details about this in a PM, I will be more than happy to see if there are any options available toward a solution.

I just bought mine 2 weeks ago, very happy however I have a similar issue. When it's idle at a stoplight there's a shudder that feels like the car's going to die and the rpms show a quick spike I thought it was bad gas but I am on my third tank. Anyone else have this?

Actually I checked this morning on the way to work and my problem is the same as yours. Is 400 too low? mine is closer to 500 and then it will shudder and kick up but goes right back down to 500rpms. It's not really that frequent and it isn't usually that strong but I just don't know if its common and not anything to worry about or if it's a defect

sorry for the thread necro, but did you guys ever figure this one out? i have a 2013 LFX with only 5800 miles on it, and it's been doing this for awhile. since i hardly ever drive the car i haven't yet bothered to bring it to the dealer to look at it, but it's exactly as you describe. when the car is stopped and idling, it will occasionally drop RPM from about 600 to 400, shakes a litte and sounds like it's gonna die, then spike rpm to 1200, then drop back to 500 steady. i'm fine with this if it isn't hurting the car, but feeling like your car is gonna die at a stoplight is really annoying.

I realize how displeasing it can be when faced with an RPMs concern like this witheringsanity, and though you're seeking thoughts and opinions, I would be happy to communicate this situation with the designated Customer Experience Manager at your preferred dealer if you feel an official diagnosis is necessary. Feel free to message us privately if you'd like to proceed, or discuss this situation further.

pull your intake tube off and check your intake to ensure it is clean and the throttle plate is opening and closing without any sticking. Change your fuel filter and air filter. Check your fuel preassure at idle. Try the fuse pull to reset things. Thats my 2 cents
