The Ridge Motorsports in Shelton

Hey all, I made my first roadcourse trip this past weekend! It was an absolute blast!! The straightaway is 1/2 mile long, which is big enough for me to get over 150 MPH. It's a nice track, went with a group called "Hooked on Driving". And I think I may be hooked....

the below video is on my second round on the track. I made a bunch of errors but didn't record my later runs. Towards the end I was hitting the turns pretty good.

Man that is awesome!!!
Do you know how late in the year the track is open?
What is the cost and do you have to go through any special classes?
I've been hitting the drag strip pretty hard but there's nothing like running flat out and carving corners!

I think this past weekend was the last one for the year. Hooked on Driving reserved the track and the cost was $300, which got you 1 on 1 instructor training for the whole day, or for as long as you need it. You couldn't go at it alone until your instructor signed you off.

THAT IS SO COOL! I'd love to try that. I've done the drag strip, and that was a blast. I enjoy pushing my car through the twistys, and have always wanted to take it out on a road course like that, but I have to admit I'd be so nervous about losing it and scuffing up my baby. I know I could take it easy and it probably would be fine, but I never take it easy. What fun is that?!

Keep us posted on that. You might have given me a Father's day present idea....

A few of the BC Crew went down last August to run the Ridge. Great road course, we will be doing it again next year for sure.

Sure they are available to all who need one. Some of us have had lot's of road course experience so we go out solo.

Yeah this past weekend seemed to be the last one in WA. There is something going on in Oregon in a couple weeks...and that is the last one for that track also.

I was nervous at first also, but you get more brave as the day goes on. I wish my GoPro batteries didn't die in the morning because my last session at the track was the best of the day

If it's that Oregon Motorsport Park I have heard less then good reviews on that track, but if it was PIR that's a different story. PIR is on our list of tracks to try.
