Vertical doors?

Does anyone know of any good shops around my area (Upland IN) that have done these before? I would like to find someone that have had them done around me and what they thought of the shop and how the doors are working.

Talk to =Stephens= He has a 11 LS Camaro wit Vertical Doors. I went down to Texas with him and Lupe installed the doors. He loves the doors and hasn't had any issues

Good luck finding someone with experience and not ripping you off. Everywhere I went they wouldn't or couldn't do it. Only one shop said they would try to do it, and wanted 5,000 plus parts and would take 2 weeks. So I went to San Antonio Texas and Lupe did them for me for 1400 parts and labor installed. He normally charges 1600 but since we came so far he gave me a discount. I spent 800 in gas, hotel, food and beer so that was still cheaper than 5 grand, and the kit itself is 1799 on VDI's website. Not installed. Took us 16 hours to drive there, 7 hours to install and 16 hours back.

That much for doors is just plain silly. I like the doors, but I would never pay that much for them.

X2, They are neat. I'm sure they could be convenient if you live in a place where your normally tight parking next to people. But its outrageous for the price.

Its just time. Adjust inner wires by drivers foot to allow doors to open. Front fenders off, tape the doors in place. Remove stock hinges, install new lambo hinges. Shave inner fender lip. Install fenders. Open doors and see if they need any type of adjustment. Weekend project this winter for me

There area couple of shops here in Indy that do them. Xtreme Vehicle Designs located in Noblesville, IN and the other located in Castleton is Indy Sound and Performance which I contacted about doing them since I've seen their work on a Mustang and it was solid, true and clean! They told me it would take about two days to do the work, it does require some slight shaving of the inner fender but all in all, its a job they can do. I think they quoted me $800-$900 to do the work in addition to the kit. They use Verticle Doors out of LA as their product of install if you want them to do it.
I'm seriously thinking of having it done now that I plan to keep my car. I've seen two installs that Lupe has done when he was here a CFest and he does a fantastic job and if I lived close to Texas I'd have him do it for me, or if I could have gotten him to do it while here for CFest I would have had it done then but my pocket wasn't ready I still wasn't sure I was going to keep the car.
I do like the mix flow of being able to have them open standard or do the vertical option.
Not sure where you live in Indiana but if close to Indy, there are two options and if you contact either, ask them what kind of deal they'll work for two cars. If it will provide a price break I may be interested in jumping on it. I know when I had a Honda Indianapolis Auto Spa cut me and a guy from Fort Wayne area a big break on the price simply because it was a slow time of the year which we're getting into now. They'd rather pass some savings on to the customer on getting work than pay their guys regular wage for sweeping the floors and cleaning up around the shop waiting on work to come in. If you catch something, PM me, I got the cash in the bank waiting for something like this.
