Hey i am considering doing a muffler delete on my SS A6. Anyone done a muffler delete on their L99? If so, how is the drone? Any feedback is appreciated. Thanks

I installed an Borla ATAK cat back. Ther is some drone, not much. I really like the new sound. I smile every time I start it. One word of caution, once you do this you will start looking at disabling the Automatic Fuel Management. It sounds strange shifting into 4 cylinder mode.

PM me if you want more details.

I had one for about a year. Us L99s dot get much drone from a delete because we have huge resonators . It will hold you off for a while and then you will want long tubes !!!!!

The AFM is what i was refering to. I have not plans of disabling it until my warranty is up. Thats why i was curious what people thought of the AFM with the muffler delete. I will leave the resonator on to help control it though.

How long until your warranty is up? Because if it's soon then I vote you start setting cash aside for a nice full exhaust with a tune.

My warranty isn't up for a couple more years. I'm gonna go with the delete for now. Hopefully you guys are right and the drone will be tolerable.

From what I've read here the drone on the L99 will be excessive. That's why I waited a year
for the muffler delete Solo J-pipes to be offered. Great deep aggressive sound with no drone.

I did this on my L99 and the drone sucked. It wasn't bad driving around town but it got old really quick on the highway.

If I had to do it again, I wouldn't. I'd save my money for a real performance exhaust system.

i have SLP LM1 which is basically a muffler delete. There is some drone there especially when cruising at speeds between 65-75. The AFM does kick in and is intensified by the muffler delete. However, i find that driving in tap shift mode helps eliminate that problem.
