How Do I Find Out What Number SS I have?

Like the title says is there an easy way to find out what number SS I am? My selling dealer said that they were unsure so I figured I check with you guys.

You are either 1SS or 2SS....I don't think GM will start making 3SS til next week.

Are you talking about what production number you are or if you have a 1SS or 2SS?

For production number look at the last 5 digits of your vin number.

1SS = Cloth Seats
2SS = Leather seats (and a few extras)

Right. I know I have a 2SS. I thought that when GM was building 4th Gens they had their production numbers but also a separate SS serial number.

You can tell the difference with the VIN but they are sequences as a product line and not by trim so unfortunately you'll only know where in overall production you fell (last 5 digits)

That's right I did a little research and did find that SLP did do the SS conversion for Gen 4. Well I do have #6391 and she has a build date of 4/29/2009

I think he means what number in production of SS is his car as there were v6 cars built in between. The vin # is what number of all produced Camaros and doesn't tell what number in the SS production.

Not trying to start anything other than I guess a little rumor control issue, but way before OCT 16 of last year there was information floating around that possibly the pre-order Camaros were gonna have a type of birth certificate if you will. Even when I ordered mine on the first of November, my salesman had stated this as well. I had read it on one of the many various websites that were talking about the upcoming Camaro when the movie transformers first came out. I guess to actually reward the preorders was the welcome packet that we received for pre-ordering with the letter and picture from Sang Yup Lee and the picture has an individual number. Hope that maybe clarifies things for the OP.

R6P a.k.a. pre-order birth certificate. Not a SS sequence number.

I doubt SS sequence number will be available.

Signed, 1998 SS #0050

The SS # on 4th Gens was assigned by SLP Engineering when the car was upfit.

That numbering system doesn't exist on the 5th Gen. Now you either have a V6 or an SS (V8).
