Talking 24 hours with my car...

I've had my car 24 hours already, well first I'll start off with the stroy of getting it.
For a month my dad kept telling me everyday that the car was going to be in in about two months...this was me >>>
Well, yesterday, I was studying with some friends at my house when my dad says hes going out. I said "yeah whatever" and kept studying. A couple hours later, he comes into my room and asks me to come help him with some boxes in the garage. Me again>>>
I walk to the garage and open the door to see my Camaro 2SS/RS SIM with black stripes sitting there. I went blank and stared at it for a good 10 minutes. My face now......
Now for my opinions on the car. Everything about this car except for the visibility is amazing, but that I can get used to. People were complaining about the interior material, its not that bad. Power...all I can say is...WOW! You'll be driving 40 and it feels like 30. UNfortunately, when i got my car it came in km/h instead of mp/h (i actually did not noticeat all while driving it around for an hour), but I eventually figured out how to fix it. Handling is amazing too, I've actually heard many people say that its a muscle car and it probably won't handle that well, but they were really wrong. As for the publicity, people just star and whip out their camera phones and take pics.

...sorry I can't post photos right now because I have no camera and won't have one until the end of the week...(just put to remind me )
If you have any questions feel free to pm me.

By the way this car is amazing...oh wait did I already mention that?
Oh and almost forgot I have brake weights.

grats on the car!

However.... If I personally was getting a Camaro from my dad.. I'd be a little more polite and a little less "whatever" And when it came to helping out with chores.... I'd be all over it and happy to do so! haha.. It might suck to do a chore but imagine how much it sucked to earn the wad of cash that he put down on the car for you !

I think the "it'll be here in about 2 months" was funny though. Nice suprise to walk in on Must be glad the 2 months are over.

No chance for me walking in on any suprises cuz I ordered my own. Not about to "suprise" myself. (OR maybe I will.)

Hey LosXC--

CONGRATS on the new Camaro.

I'm going to take the liberty of "cutting and pasting" what I wrote to another young man the other evening that had just received a new Camaro.......

Many years of happiness and many miles of smiles!

Here goes:

ON behalf of everyone here at GM, congrats on receiving your new Camaro!

Your father sounds like a wonderful person -- never let him forget that!

Now --

......gotta say this:

Please -- please -- please.......

We want you as a customer for many many many more years.

Please promise me (and this goes for everyone else on this site -- regardless of age!......

>Always wear your safety belt -- EVERY TIME _- NO EXCUSES -- and that goes for everyone else in the car.

>ALWAYS pay attention to driving. It's very easy to get distracted when you have friends in the car -- take it from someone who's been there: you make a lot of mistakes when you have friends in the car -- please try to pay attention to the act of driving.

>Make sure you're sitting in the seat properly. Your shoulder blades should be in contact with the seatback when you have your hands at 10 and 2 on the wheel - if not, you're sitting back too far!

>NEVER, EVER, NEVER EVER text while driving.

>Put the cell phone down. If you have to use the phone, make sure you're using the bluetooth feature on your new Camaro -- or use OnStar minutes.

I don't want this to sound like I'm lecturing you -- I'm lecturing EVERYONE only because I do care and I've seen too many friends die or seriously injured...........

Now -- go enjoy that new Camaro -- knowing that we hope you're as proud to own and drive it as we were to design, engineer, and build it for you!

Great advice. Nowadays, the recommendation is 9 and 3 or 8 and 4 due to airbag placement. At 10 and 3, the hands are much more susceptible to damage when the airbags deploy. Putting stereo/cruise control buttons on the steering wheel at the 9 and 3 position is one way of "coaxing" drivers to a safer hand position. Performance driving schools are also teaching the "shuffling" technique when turning the wheel rather than hand-over-hand.

Good advice Fbodfather, however, the 1SS I'm looking at is not available with Bluetooth and OnStar is too expensive just to use for minutes! Is there any chance that GM will start allowing FULL C&C to be an option on the 1SS If they do, this would make it easy for me to place my order now as I simply can't afford to pay for the 2SS. Thanks!
