V6 throttle body
Anybody know where I can get a ported throttle body for the 2012 v6, where I don't have to send them my core? I've been looking and haven't had any luck.

I can sell you mine. I am trading up in the coming months, so it will be wasted. We would have to meet up of course. Depending on where you live in md that may or may not be possible.

You don't have to return your stock one, you just won't get the core charge back.

There is no arguing that. You are basically paying $200 for a throttle body and $150 for the porting. When you give them a throttle body back they give you your money back and you have only paid for the porting service.

Just curious, why do you want to keep the old one?

If I ever order one (I'm a huge procrastinator) I'm going to turn in the core. Not planning on getting rid of the car and its unlike the dealer is going to take much notice to it if the car ever needs warranty work.
But, if that's what you want to do, nothing wrong with that.

I was mainly worried about voiding my warranty. You don't think the dealer will notice or void my warranty because if the throttle body?

I'm personally not worried about it, but my local dealer routinely works on cars that have been reasonably modified without complaining. I feel like it's no worse than exhaust or intake on the car. If you don't feel comfortable that's understandable.

The ported throttle body will not void your warranty. In order for a warranty claim to be denied they have to prove that the issue in question is a direct result of the modification. I do not know what they could blame on a ported throttle body that smooths out air flow. If there was an issue with the throttle body itself then I could see it but I would keep the $200 in my pocket and pay it in the unlikely event that that occurred. In all likelihood they would not even notice that it was ported unless you had is painted or polished. The tech would have to pull it off, look inside, and actually know what ported versus stock looks like. There isn't really a red flag that screams, "I've been modified!". The pattern is very clean and could easily be overlooked by someone that wasn't familiar with it.
