If I remember correctly I found one on the passenger floor. There is a little cutout in the carpet that you pull up and the VIN is scribed into the metal.

Planning on opening a chop shop?

There are build stickers all over the chassis with the VIN and date on them.

Yep, original exhaust, control arms, engine cradle. Pretty much everywhere. When the car is "broadcast" to production, parts get these labels and sent to the line in the order that gets them all on your car and not the one in front of or behind yours. They have a pretty good system.

Federal Parts-Marking Program

The Federal Motor Vehicle Theft Prevention Standard issued by the NTSA in 1987 required designated high-theft vehicles to include the VIN on its major component parts. The idea behind this was to assist law enforcement agencies in tracking and recovering parts from stolen motor vehicles. This standard only applied to passenger cars that did not come with anti-theft devices as standard equipment on the "entire line," the use of which exempted manufacturers from this application.

Standard Amendment

The NTSA amended the Theft Prevention Standard in 1994 to include light-duty trucks rated at 6,000 pounds gross vehicle weight or less, and multipurpose passenger vehicles. The standard dictated the equipment that required the VIN on all classes of vehicles and places for marking it. Parts and locations designated for marking included the engine, transmission, front or rear bumper, right or left front fender, hood, right or left door, pickup box, cargo box on light-duty trucks, rear doors, deck lid, hatchback, the tailgate, the right or left quarter panel on passenger cars, and the right or left side assembly on multipurpose vehicles.

Not sure what you're asking. Consider revising.

Those pictures are of VIN's engraved at the factory. They look all jagged and goofy as a way to prevent duplication.

Where were the photos of the VIN taken?
Is that what you see on the VIN plate under the lower left side of the windshield?

Carfax does show a VIN ending in 318 was a total loss salvage vehicle.
