Need help/advice with Metra Dash Kit

Howdy all. I am in need of some of the wisdom and expertise that is on this forum, please.

I installed an aftermarket Jensen single-DIN DVD/touch screen head unit. I used the Metra kit, with the SWC interface and everything. Everything worked perfectly, except the door chime, turn signal chime, and backup sensor chime.

I am thinking that the only way those would work is if you used the factory Boston Acoustics amp with an aftermarket head unit, right? I am using the RCA outs on the back of the Jensen only to a Rockford Fosgate 5-channel amp. So therefore, the chime signal from the interface isn't currently being routed to anything since there is no connection from either the head unit to the BA amp, or the BA amp to any of the speakers.

Is there any way to make the chimes work with an aftermarket head unit AND an aftermarket power amp?

Any help advice you guys could offer would be greatly appreciated!

BLESSINGS!
Sam

The best thing to do is add a speaker. Connect it to the white and white/black wires on the 22-way connector on the audio interface. There are other ways to handle this, but this will be the simplest and it won't cause any other audio issues.

Any 8 ohm or 4 ohm speaker is fine. Stuff it under the dash somewhere.

Thank you SO MUCH!! I think what I'll do in following your advice is hook up the center speaker to the wires you referenced. I disconnected that speaker long ago, and it's just sitting there!
