Anyone get SPARE TIRE option with their '10 Camaro?

Again, I'm ordering this week and dealer said that you can order the Camaro with an actual spare tire instead of the patch/inflator kit. Has anyone received a Camaro with a spare tire? Would like to have one but wondering where it is mounted - if it fits in the trunk I would assume its bolted down and not just riding around loose. Would appreciate any info on this - thanks again...

Dealer quoted me $70US for the "spare" which is standard small donut wheel and tire. I didn't buy it - I want to keep the backend as light as possible

I don't have my car yet, but I did order the spair. It is mounted in the trunk under the mat. You won't even know it is there unless you go look of it or you need it get to the battery. The battery is in the trunk under the center of the spair. The spair needs to be removed to get to it.

PS: If you are ordering a SS you can not get the spair. It will not fit over the brakes on the SS!

Yes

Ordered it for our 2LT/RS - it fits under the trunk mat, over the battery. There is no inflator kit with the spare. Includes jack and jack handle. We also have the 20 in wheels. Doubt the 20 in would fit in place of the "donut" under the trunk mat.

Yes, I did cause the idea of a pump is just silly. But like said earlier, the spare is only available on non-SS models, and it was a $150 option.

If brembo then the rim rider won't have room for the caliper. It only works with the stock brakes.

You would need a full sized wheel if you want a full spare with brembs. Not bad to have one at home. If you put it in the trunk area make sure it's tied down good enough that it won't fly loose in a crash.

Will the 20" tire fit in the trunk at all?

Good question...is the opening wide/tall enough?

those little tires that you pump up that come in cars like this are junk. Dont waste your money. Just plan on calling a tow truck if you get a flat.
