Should i order a 2011 SS ???? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hey Guys so here is what my dealer is telling me...

The ss's are back ordered till about sept/oct....so if i want i can put in the 1st order for a 2011 and have it in Oct.

Now i am thinking this is a cool idea and worth it...(only a month or a week difference)

But would i be able to tweak the order if they released lets say new colors or whatever for the 2011's???

2011 cars will not be out until Aug/Sept 2010. If you order in Oct of this year, it will still be a 2010 car.
Find another dealer that has allocation left. The allocation is the amount of cars each dealer is getting from GM by the end of the third quarter (end of Sept). There are dealers will allocation left, just have to call around and find one.

Or you can wait 16months to get a 2011 if you like.

then maybe this guy is full of it, he said the 2011's will be out in Oct, i knew that sounded a little off

Yeah he is full of it I have never heard of 2011 model year cars being available at the end of 2009....(we are still in 2009 right?)

I'd only wait if you are unhappy with some of the responses from current owners, hoping GM makes some changes to your liking for the 2011.

Maybe at his dealership, because they have no allocation left. But there is no constraint on V8 (SS's) on GM's side.

His dealer is just an idiot.

How do i know their allocation, can't they lie about that too??? should there be a print out i can see or something when i check dealers?

Nope, you have to trust them on the allocation number, but if you get a refundable deposit, they have no real reason to lie to you. But find a dealer that you dont think is a scum bag or an idiot. Call around and you should get a better idea of which dealers know there stuff.
