XM Deals?

Has anyone heard or received any deals to re-up their XM subscriptions? My free year is up, and I like it enough to not want to reset all my presets. Any advice would be appreciated!

Thanks!

I purchased 6 months for about $4-5 a month when mine was up. You have hold out and not accept their first offer, even if you really want to renew. If you give them a credit card, they'll automatically renew you at the full price when your subscription is up. Be very careful in dealing with them. It's been advised to just send them a check and not pay them with credit. You really should do a google search on Xm.

OK, thanks! I keep getting e-mails from them, but they are deals for new receivers, which doesn't make any sense.

I just wanted a good ball-park to know what a good deal is, so thank you for that.

funny you mention that....

I just got my new radio connected yesterday.

FIRST CALL:
xm: how can I help you
me: I'd like to connect my new radio.
xm: she tells me about a "deal" for 149/year
me: I have a friend that just got 6 months for $25. I would like that deal.
xm: what is your radio id
me: radio id ########
xm: sorry, that radio doesn't qualify for that deal. I can give you 12 month for $149.
me: no thank you.

CALL #2:
xm: how can I help you.
me: I just got a mailer (didn't but I said I did) and it says I can get 6 months for $25.
xm: sure, what is your radio id #
me: radio id #######
xm: ok... that will be $31 total, how would you like to pay
me: please send me a bill (NEVER NEVER NEVER GIVE SIRIUS/XM YOUR CC INFO)
xm: yes sir, your bill will be mailed. your radio is now connected.

Thanks for the script! It worked like a charm. I was able to get six months for a total of $27.44. The only catch is that I'm set to auto renew after the six months at full price.

However, they don't have my credit card info so I should be able to head them off before I get a huge bill.

Thanks again for your help!

I have taken advantage of the deal too...But they still have it on the website, the catch is you had to have had XM already and it expired...

http://www.siriusxm.com/listen3

OFFER DETAILS: Activate a prepaid semi-annual (6-month) subscription on an XM Select subscription package, pay only $24.99 for your first 6 months, and save 71% off the standard subscription price ($4.17/mo versus $14.49/mo). Offer good on any inactive radio on your account and comes with free activation (a $15 value). Service will automatically renew and bill at the then-current rate, on a Semi-Annual (6 mos.) Plan, until you call SiriusXM at 1-866-635-2349 to cancel. See our Customer Agreement for complete terms at www.siriusxm.com. Fees and taxes apply. All fees and programming subject to change. This offer cannot be combined with any other. Our satellite service is available only to those at least 18 and older in the 48 contiguous USA and DC. Our Sirius satellite service is also available in PR (with coverage limitations). Our Internet radio service is available throughout our satellite service area and in AK and HI. Be VERY careful. After 6 months they will send you a bill for the $149 and then when you don't pay they will send you to collections. It could end up on your credit. Just don't even play with this disreputable company.

?

I tried this, he came up and made the offer without asking. $25+ tax. 32.35 total for 6 months. Good deal but the catch was the next 6 months was 95+ tax to round out the year. It still works out to be 140 and change.
So what I did was the year deal at 95+ tax (109.53) saves you another 30.
I said I have two units, one was off for the last 6 months and rather than give me the 189 price to hook it back up he gave me the same price for both???? 219 for 2 radios for a year, was this good I don't know.

Simply call and cancel before the renewal date. They will make you an offer on the phone. I said no to the first offer and she "found" a 2nd better offer. They will cancel or renew at the time of the call.

Thanks for the heads up with the full-price renewal. I put a reminder in my calendar to cancel my subscription a few days before my six months is up.

I've heard bad things about XM's billing procedures, so I guess I'll just prepare to fight them to continue to be their customer. It is a sad state of affairs, but, luckily for them, their product is good enough for people to deal with it.
