Sooooo frustrated........

Well I have been waiting a short time for my 2010 Camaro SS but have been waiting around 9 months for my modded out 97 Trans Am to get back to me. My wife is leaving for a deployment on July 7th and we had planned on having one of these in time to enjoy before she left. Well today I found out that my Camaro has still not moved as expected and the Trans Am has hit yet another snag and I was told I would probably have it on right before July 4th. Waiting for my Pontiac makes the Camaro wait time even worse. i asked the guy to help me out and maybe speed up the process a bit so my wife and I could enjoy the T/A for a couple weeks instead of days and he says he can't. So much for military appreciation. Rant over..........just needed to get it off my chest.

feel for you because Im in the army and kind of know how this feels but at the same time, dude your ordered you car not even two weeks ago. A standard build on any car is going to be a good 4-6 weeks.

You ordered two days after me, and are already at 3000, with TPW late June? I'm still sitting at 1100, dealer doesn't have an allocation, and I'm #2 on the list when he does gets it (maybe in the next 2 weeks). I understand your pain, but count your blessings too!

And prayers for your wife that she comes home safe, Le9710. Tell her thanks for her service!

lee9710... First off let me thank you and your wife for the service that your are providing to our country. Sorry to hear about the deployment and all of the issues you are having in getting your Camaro. I'm former AF and know all about being deployed. I wish you and your family the best and hope for a speedy Camaro delivery.....

Lee, how about renting a new Camaro for a few days to enjoy with your wife before she deploys? You can call around now and reserve one.

Goodluck and thank you and your wife for the sacrifice to keep US safe.

Ive looked into renting one and there isnt one nearby us. I guess my frustration isnt really with the Camaro........mostly my Trans am. I originally ordered my Camaro a long time ago......I just reordered about 3 weeks ago so my wait has been longer than indicated by my sig.

Just called Avis to see about a rental.........guy told me 500 dollars up front and a credit check before reservation. I think I can wait for mine to get here for that much of a rip off. I could rent a luxury Cadillac or SUV for cheaper. And I thought dealers were the only ones with mark-ups.

I know all about frustration in waiting. I thought I would lose my mind when I waited 6 months for my Shelby Cobra replica to get built and delivered to my home. Everyday was hell and was finding every reason to blame my car builder for taking 6 months to build me a car. In the end, I wish I was more patient and afforded him whatever time or delays needed to get the job done correctly. Haste makes waste and questionable quality is often the result of an expedited job.
Don't linger too much in frustration. After all, getting your Camaro or TransAm back before your wife deploys should not make a difference whether you will have a great time with your wife in the weeks or days prior to her deployment. Save the frustration til after she has left. Is there anything else SHE (not you) would love to do with you before she deploys? A short cruise perhaps? A weekend getaway?

I spent 10 years in the military... 7 years aboard a USS carrier. It was always tough to deploy and back then, I was more concerned with my cars, as far as how they would get looked after, cleaned, driven, etc. etc. than anything or anyone else. Yep, I was too stupid then....
I may be off target here but I hope you get the point.

Cheers.

We dont have much time to do anything. They told us she was leaving a week ago and she has been getting all of her stuff together and taking care of all pre-deployment things. They also won't give her anytime off and no one has been allowed to leave the state from this unit. We are pretty much stuck here. Not such a bad thing. We will just enjoy each other for a few more weeks before she leaves.
