Bumpy ride! What can i do?

2010 V6 2lt. Got snows and 17" rims on now . seems like it is worst with these smaller tires on, but also do notice with the 18" rims, What can be done to make this better without having to spend thousands ? Shocks? or any tuneups? I did have the alinement done less that a year ago , and it was still a bumpy. Wife is bitching a storm up about it. Can i take it to the dealer and have them do anything to make it better? Ps I have tires set a 39 lbs and max is 45 ibs. Thanks for any help:updown:

Well a smaller tire will make a rougher ride but uou said it was rough with the 18's too. Try lowering the tire pressure a bit, I run 34# cold. If that doesn't help take it to the dealer, maybe the struts are done which I'm not sure if thwy woild warranty that

My 2010 2LTRS with the 20" wheels had a great ride. People with the 19"'s do also. No shocks available yet. Stock is as good as it gets save for coilovers that cost$$ and though adjustable may not make a difference for your problem. Your wheel size and maybe snow tires are the only thing different so would think thats the problem

Thanks guys sounds like 34 psi is the magic number will do. Will try that , I think it is the snows , With the 18" it is not near as bad. , Yah i would love coil-overs , but $2000k not in the cards . I plan on moving up in the Camaro world to a V8 ,while keeping the V6 for the wife in the next year maybe 2. If not i will take it in before the 36000 miles ,which is only 1000 away now . Ditchn the wife not a good option either been married 24 years i want to keep my $ , plus she is good company anyways .haha

Is it bumpy or bouncy after you hit bumps? Your tire pressure is a little high and that would definitely result in a rough but not necessarily bumpy ride. I would lower it down to 34~ and see what happens. What size snow tire did you go with? Normally the ride will soften up a little with snow tires due to the added sidewall from dropping wheel sizes as well as having a softer sidewall and rubber compound.

Have you checked that one of your shocks hasn't given out on you. If you see oil on the shock housing or if you push down on the hood or trunk lid and the car's suspension cycles more than once you may have a problem.

Chiming in a little late here but when my snows were a little bumpy I took them in for balancing. Worked great for me. Not sure if it will for you but it is an option.
