SIAP - Do you think you'll love your Camaro when you see more of them on the road?

I'm not a Mustang or Challenger owner who's trying to stir the pot or "troll" or anything like that. I just find myself wondering if part of the allure regarding the new Camaro is its scarcity. True, I love the way it looks. The performance/price ratio is outstanding. And it's the first good looking Camaro in...well, a while. But part of the reason I don't like the Mustang is because every 5 seconds you see one on the road. I think that they look pretty good, and the GT is a pretty good/fun car, but I don't want to drive what one out of every seven teenagers is driving.

So, how do you think you'll feel about the 'Maro once supply finally catches up with demand? Will you current owners then retreat to the "but I had it before everyone else" hallowed ground? Or will you not give a rip because it's a great car?

That depends on wether you drive what you drive to impress others, or to just enjoy it for yourself. Any car with this kind of HP and Looks at this price will sell many.

Nah, the Camaro looks sharper and is a better car, imo than a Mustang or Challenger. I can say that on a Camaro forum.

The Camaro is never going to be flooded on the road like a Mustang. Ford has produced a Mustang year after year. A Camaro comes out what? Like every 10 years or so?

i know what exactly what you're saying. I think as long as the other Camaro drivers are cool, and wave or acknowledge other camaros then I'm cool with it. If we start seeing jerks that are too good for everyone or people that have no clue what their driving, then I'll get a little (ok, extremely) annoyed. I don't think it will change how much I like the car though. I'll still love the car, I'll just be mad at the idiots.

It matters more and less to different people, but it's human nature to desire exclusivity. Maybe it's just not that important to you? That's all I was trying to ascertain here

I think everyone here will be a little disappointed when it becomes more common.

I say get out there and enjoy it as much as you can while it's still unique. It may not hit Mustang-common levels, but it has the potential to.

To my fellow Camaro owners out there, couple of things..

1.) Don't be a jerk, let people see your car and answer their questions
2.) Let them take a picture if they want.
3.) Don't take up two parking spots, that is a key job waiting to happen
4.) If you see another Camaro owner flag them down, honk the horn and give them the thumbs up.

5.) Don't try and race a Mustang GT, you will only embarass them.

Anything else to add?

Precisely. I see the numbnuts driving Mustangs. Daily. What's cool about the Camaro is that even the BASE model is beefy. You don't need to qualify your purchase.

Much like any new vehicle, some of the initial excitement will wear off. Its human nature.

I bought the car, because I am a Camaro fan. This is my fourth one (and one Trans Am).

So i have some deep roots here.

It is my car, it was the first car I ever ordered, it is the first car built and optioned the way I wanted, it is beautiful, it is comfortable, it is quick, and I can't say enough good about it.

The allure will probably deminish some but that is why each Camaro owner can make his or her car stand out by adding things to the car and making it unique to there liking. Mine will be different in subtle ways.

Well my color is going to be very rare on the road, so I feel will still have that longer staying power with the hype.

And that is one hot looking car. Like most people here, I imagine, I have built the Camaro on the website so many times in every color combination. I never thought I'd like the Black with Orange stripes, but mea culpa!
