Apparent issue with CAI

Hi, I recently installed a K&N CAI (the chrome variety) and I've been noticing that when I give it a lot of gas (floor it), I hear and feel a rattle/noise at the top left. It feels like it's in my dash, but I'm not sure. Could this be caused by the CAI? It only started happening right after I installed the CAI. Anyone else experience this? I checked and verified that it is installed properly and that there is nothing loose. Help!

I have a CAI CAI, and I have noticed the same thing at full throttle, in a specific RPM range, in the same dash location. It MAY be that the CAI changes the sound in a way that we are getting a sympathetic vibration / resonance at a certain frequency. My car is certainly a lot louder now.

I installed mine almost a year ago. I've never heard any rattling noises. I hear it sucking in a lot of air though!

I hear this same thing in my car. Rattling/shaking to the left....somewhere...haha. Heard it a lot when I had the K&N (black tube) and I still hear it with my CAI but it's not near as loud and noticeable.

You need to look at it. It's most likely hitting something due to the engine vibrating when accelerating. Check the hole where the pipe goes through the heat shield and where the heat shield comes near the fender and radiator support. Make sure there is no metal to metal contact. If so adjust the filter to place the rubber base in the hole of the shield and/or move the gasket that seals to the hood so that it covers the edge coming in contact.

That is great, great advice. Thanks v6sonoma! I will post back as soon as I make these adjustments.
