You have to remove the gold part of the bowtie and then insert the black/polished piece.

You remove the gold part by drilling it out just as a heads up.

For a few more bucks you could have a custom painted one.. check the vendor section, they're hard to pass up.

If so, no drilling is required. We've been doing a bunch of carbon pieces lately, which requires that I pull out the gold center, wrap it in real carbon fiber, then reassemble it after clear coat.

The smaller rear bow tie for the trunk lid can gently be pressed out with a screw driver if you're careful. You'll see slots through the back to which you apply pressure.

The big front grill Bowtie is a little more tricky, but it can be done. You need to take something thin and strong to gently pry it out. Be especially careful around the metal edges of the chrome base. If you scratch it, you'll be sorry. :(

Here's what happens when you use a fresh razor blade as a prying tool, by the way. (Surprisingly, I didn't get a single drop on the part or myself. It all went onnthe floor.)

Anyway, once you finish it up, here's the finished product.

Yea I was. That's good to know. Thanks for clarifying Alan.
