Making a custom Engine cover - don't like V8 (suggestions?)

I am awaiting the arrival a used LS3 engine cover that I plan to paint/modify (I'll store the stock cover). I have searched the DIY and this forum for ideas like cutting the 2 top inserts and adding the mesh which I like a lot. But I have not found an alternative for that less than thrilling plastic embossed V8. Would have preferred an LS3 or SS but a plain jane V8 is boring. I even thought about just cutting it out and placing mesh behind it as well.

Any creative ideas would be appreciated (I am leaning toward RPI Designs insert right now http://www.rpidesigns.com/shop/item.aspx?itemid=1826)
Thanks,

Bob

they make an SS engine cover plate that installs over the V8 on the engine cover, pfyc.com has them.

the SS comes in red or white

**edit** i clicked your link after i posted, but i think that pfyc.com SS plate is better quality than the rpi

I am pretty sure Roger at Emblem Pros could come up with something customized for you if that is what you are after.
