NEED to decide SOON! Auto or Manual

So I'm new to the forum but hope some of you can offer insight as to what choice Camaro to make. Some pros and cons if you will. I am torn between an Auto or a Manual. I will be going in 2 days to the dealer and hopefully walk away with a new car. I haven't driven manual in years, so I am worried about how well I will do. This car will be my daily driver, and I do lot of city driving.

The auto seems like it would be easiest for a DD but manual has more power. I've been driving a 4 cylinder all through college and now I want more power. I know the auto cuts off 4 cylinder with the AFM. I felt it during the test drive. I haven't driven the manual yet. Any opinions on the matter would help! Thanks!

If you drive in bumper to bumper traffic all day, I would get the auto. Otherwise, get the manual. Welcome to the forum.

For your type of driving... I'd go auto.

manual for me....though if in traffic all the time that could end up being a drag. For me I like shifting. It makes it feel more like a sport car that I can "drive" rather just go somewhere in.

I like you hadn't driven a manual in years but it came back to me prety quick. I think once you've mastered you never really forget. it's just a matter of finding the engaging position of the clutch in that car. Piece of cake man.

Most people complain about a manual on bumper to bumper traffic, but in my experience, it takes a second or so to shift so I don't see the big deal.....Even if you have to shift many times because of traffic. I would say manual.

I, like you have a lot of city driving. I went in to buy an auto. I test drove an auto and a manual. I bought a manual. There are times when I get in traffic jams that I wish I was in an auto, but I never wish that my camaro was an auto. It is just so much more fun. I thought the paddle shifters would have made the auto better but in a straight line the auto shifts faster than u can anyway. And don't bother shifting in a turn, the paddles are attached to the wheel and never where you expect them. If all you want is 1/4 mile performance and a grocery getter get the auto but I got a lot more smiles and twisties fun from the manual.
