GFX Thoughts - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

So, I've got a Black 2SS/RS with CGM rally stripes and I'm looking for opinions.

I've already ordered the GFX, and I'm just waiting to get them installed once they arrive at the dealership, so I don't want this thread to turn into a debate on whether the ground effects look good or not. They're going on the car, no matter what anyone says.

Anyway, when the GFX come in, I'm debating on leaving them the dark argent metallic color, or having them painted. If I have them painted, I haven't decided on whether I would want them black to match the car, or have them painted CGM to match the stripes....

What do y'all think? I personally think the color they come in will be pretty darn close to the CGM, enough so that having them painted would be a waste.

Let me know your opinions...

if this was my ride i would want the GFX painted the same color of the car.

I like the look of them painted. I would probably like them unpainted if the gfx didn't have that stair step cut on the area in front of the rear wheels.

I think that would look pretty good, I just prefer the consistency of black aside from the stripes. But it is YOUR car, and the GFX matching stripes would look good as well, just for me I would do black GFX. I don't think you can really go wrong either way though.

I have a black 2SS/RS without stripes, and I painted mine black. Very nice look:

The day I picked Boo up after getting the GFX installed, the dealer had a black 2SS in the showroom with unpainted GFX installed. I saw it and immediately thought, "Damn, I glad I got mine painted. That looks like crap. But if it had matching stripes, that would look good."

So, I guess I'd vote for painting them to match either the body or the stripes.

Just jacken with ya. I also ordered them with my car, I love them.
I am painting mine IOM to match the car. I saw a black car the other day with black GFX
it looks amazing, I would paint them to match your car.

My first post...I did not get mine painted and like the look. I went with the black rims so it sort of draws your eyes to them.
