Modern Muscle Wheels?
After having my car for almost 2 years now, I am still unable find a wheel that really jumps out at me. I am looking for a really modern/classic looking muscle wheel in chrome finish. I have looked at the Rocket Booster & American Racing Daytonas, as well as the AR Torq Thrust, and I still can't find one that seem to fit this car perfectly. The Rocket Booster shows too much of the rotor for me. I'm not sure what else is out there. I do like the Torq-style wheels that come on the new Challengers. Right now I have started leaning towards a set of TSW Nurburgrings with the bright finish, because I just can't find a muscle wheel I really like. It's seems choices are limited in this area. Anybody have any other wheel suggestions and/or pictures? I have a 2011 IOM 1LT with custom painted "Frost White" pearl rally stripes. Also, forgot to mention I plan to go from the stock 18"s up to 20"s.

I think I may finally found them! VISION™ - LEGEND 5-142 Chrome. Those are VERY classic looking.

Tires seem to be about the same price in both sizes. The car is a daily driver so the lower weight of the 18's is not important. Is there any improvement of ride quality, etc., going up to 20"s? - infernoman2011 |

I know you've already commented on these in your post but I think the AR Torq Thrust are one of the best looking rims for that classic muscle car appearance. Just my opinion.

I have been considering Rally II's in 18". Year one has them with all the correct sizing and backspacing, but at the price it's not going to be an easy buy, but it doesn't get any more old muscle than Rally II's in my opinion.

All of the best "modern muscle" wheels for the Camaro:
AR Torq Thrust - this is my car how it was at around this time last year. A lot has changed since then, but I still have the wheels. Chrome FOOSE Legends Chrome FOOSE Nitrous Chrome FOOSE Boss 338 Vision LEGEND wheels Coys C-5 Gunmetal (probably the most "oldschool") These are kind of a new release, so no pics of them on a car. They're the "Streeter" model by Showheels. Kind of a hybrid between Torq Thrusts and Coys. They come in chrome and black as well. Cragar's "Modern Muscle Series 617" in bare polished aluminum. New wheel, just released late last year and debuted at SEMA. I might replace my TT with these some day. And that's it for your "old school" muscle wheels. I am partial to the look, so I think all of them look great on this car. Wish this post can get stickied. A lot of guys make posts about which "modern muscle" wheel to get. |
