I put 'new' oem GM wheels and tires on my car and tried the relearn process several times. Since I got these traded in wheels from a reseller,there is the possibility the sensors were removed.My question is would I get a different warning if not present or the same if present but different tpms? The orig. owner bought a new camaro then drove it to a wheel shop and traded in his for 24's. Thanks

I know the new wheels require the use of a tool for relearning, but I don't know if it is due to the sensor or bcm changes.

I would just go down to you local tire shop and reset them. I assume your DIC is showing tire pressure readings. If so the tire shop can set them to 34psi which is the OEM pressure. You press the relearn button and hear a couple of honks, then a hand held reset tool is held next to each TPMS and set to 34psi. After each sensor is set you will hear a honk to confirm the TPMS is reset. Make sure you have the tires filled with nitrogen as it won't leak out and keeps a more consistant tire pressure. It will also make your tires last longer. I got over 40k on my Pzero's.

Thanks,but doesn't really answer the question of, How do you know you have the sensors in the tire without breaking down the tire. DIC tell you?...I got 52K out of my orig. pzero's with plain old air.85-90% hwy driving.

I know your situation is a little different being that they are factory wheels..... but when I purchased my aftermarket wheels the service department had to deflate my tires for 10 minutes and then do the relearn for the sensors to recognize. Another member on C5 explained that the sensors reset after being totally deflated. Not sure if thats the case but I havent had a problem since.

Most SS drivers don't get over 40k. If you get in you car and turn your DIC to the tire pressure section it should show the tire pressure of each tire. If it reads 0 you don't have sensors. Like I said take it to you local tire shop which can detectet the sensors with their hand held TPMS sensor without taking the tires of the wheels.

Finally heard from seller,no tpms in wheels.Why would it read anything other than zero,dashes actually.If there present,but different,the car couldn't read them anyway,hence the need to relearn.
