Unhappy K&N Replacement Air Filter V6 -> CEL

Just replaced it this weekend and now the CEL is on. Engine has no mods - this is a drop-in filter replacement (not a new air intake). I see threads that the only options are:
1) wait for the filter to dry out a bit
2) replace with a factory filter

any others?

Go to the V6 section. Might get better help there.

While the OP does have a v6, it's pretty much the same airbox, and the same filter is used in both the v6 and v8...

That's very interesting that you seem to be having a problem with it OP, have you checked the CEL codes thrown? Also was it BRAND NEW, or did you perhaps wash it, re-oil, and reinstall it wet? You really shouldn't have any problems with it... No vacuum leaks, etc?

I agree, shouldnt have any issues with a drop in filter. If it was new it may be over-oiled which is common.

I have seen new K&N filters blow oil back on the MAF sensor and cause the issue you are having. Pull out the MAF, clean it, and then give it a go.
