New in the garage

[Silverado]

Okay, so we got the Enclave this weekend. It isn't the one we had originally ordered. There were some rebates, some earnings promos, etc. that we could use but it had to be by the end of January, so we ended up finding one and our dealer pulled off a dealer trade to get it (harder than normal because the Enclaves are still flying off dealer lots, so trading one without getting one in return isn't something they like to do...our dealer gave them an Acadia now and is giving them the Enclave that we had ordered, once it's built).

So, instead of getting the dark blue one, we got what they call the Blue-Gold Crystal Metallic...it's kind of a silver-blue color...it kind of changes depending on the light you're in.

Anyway, even though we gave up the color we wanted, we upgraded to chrome wheels and the DVD player package for less money, so it worked out for us.

I would already have pictures of it, but we got snow yesterday, so it didn't even get to stay clean for one day. I'll get it cleaned up this weekend and get some pictures of it posted.

Alright...sorry for the delay...we had a problem with our camera and memory card for awhile, so it took some time to get these pics downloaded.

I know with all the spy shots and accessories pics of the Camaro that no one probably even remembers this, but I said back then I'd post them when I got them.

Had the wife and I not just purchased our Kia Sorento, that would have been first on my list to have to see and test drive. Gorgeous ride!

I really like the Enclave. Great choice! Glad to see you kept your purchase "in da' familia", ie: GM. Scott would be proud.

Thanks everyone...we're pretty happy with it...the wife especially likes it because it's easier to park and maneuver around than the Tahoe was. It rides a little better too. A big plus is that we are getting about a 25% increase in gas mileage (and that's just in town driving...we hardly do any highway driving). In fact, over the winter is our worse case....she typically takes our oldest to school....only about 8 blocks....and comes home....then when she goes to pick her up from school, they sit in the lot with it running to keep warm (can't really let the other two kids freeze) and then comes home.

Anyway, we like it. And, as for staying in the family, there was only really one vehicle outside the family that was ever in the running. In fact it came down to the Enclave and the RX350 from Lexus. The wife decided she would rather, at least, have the option to use the 3rd row seats...the Lexus doesn't have them. But, we were almost in the Lexus because it rides better, is quieter, gets better gas mileage and seems quicker (may not be). But, for about the same price (literally a couple hundered bucks less than the Lexus), we got the third row seats, slightly lower maintenance costs and stayed with American made (not really a deciding point, but somewhat important to us).

GM did good on this one, my dealer got two in, and they were sold just as fast as they came off the truck.
