dash camera situation

So I would like to get a dash camera for my camaro LT (my old car it saved my ass on 2 accidents that weren't my fault! its a must have).

My problem is that I really dont like the idea of routing power wires all over the place in my new car.

Im looking for a battery operated camera OR is it possible to splice power from my ON star mirror?

I just dont like the look of wires everywhere whats everyone's thoughts?

You can always run a power wire from the fuse panel up and behind the A pillar cover and across and under the front of the head liner to the rear view mirror. That's what i did for my smart cord for my Escort 9500ix

Check in the DIY section. There are quite a few guides with different ways to wire up a camera or radar detector. I'm not aware of being able to tap directly into the mirror but there are guides on how to run it to the fuse panel without the wires being noticeable and how to tap into the dome light.

I have an iTronics 100HD dashcam. its sits in front of the mirror on the passenger side. power cable wasn't hard to run or hide. I have it running under the headliner down the driver a-pillar out of the way of the airbag and into the dash where the fuse panel is. I wired it to 2 different fuses. one constant and other accessory. overall it took about 30 min. Camera is virtually invisible. blends in with the mirror. and from the driver seat you cant even see it.

I have a product Called Visiondrive which is a black box recorder and then come in 1 ch and 2 channel mode which records video out the windsheild and I mounted mine right behind my Rear View Mirror. The Second Camera records the cabin and the unit also records Audio. Works great. http://www.visiondrive.net.au
