Remote for Motorized plate holder
Does anyone know if the remote for the swift motorsports motorized license plate mount can be linked to the garage door/home link buttons? Do you think it can learn it?

just connect an accessory power line that comes on when the car is started to the contacts for the buttons on the remote control through something like this. Its a pulse relay, basically when it gets a High or low signal on the input line it outputs a high pulse on the output line for a predetermined amount of time by you.
http://www.drdetailshop.com/528T.htm ![]() It would require some playing around with and probably some transistors here and there becuase I think this one is for 12volts only and im pretty sure your remote is going to be like 3.3v or something. It would work but would require some electrical knowledge but basically your plate would come out when the car was started and would close when the car was off. Honestly im not sure why this isn't the way the motorized plates where made in the first place. It would be cheaper to manufacture and everything because you wouldn't even need the radio transmitters and what not. p.s. this is all assuming that there is one button to open and another to close. if its a toggle switch then your screwed because would need a sensing marker to know when the plate was infact open and closed and that would be a lot more complicated.
