4th Annual Camaro5 Winthrop Trip

Well, life's been a little challenging for me this last year, and the last few months I really haven't been focusing at all on planning this.

Though I don't have a Camaro this year, I would love to keep the tradition alive as I should have another Camaro later this year or early next year...almost certainly a ZL1

The plan is to go a little later in May (May 18th/19th).

This year, I'm not as much in a planning mood for various reasons, so the trip itself will be more informal than normal (not that it was very formal to begin with). I'll come up with a place to meet in the weeks to come. I won't be doing the 2nd day of travel to Coulee or anything, instead heading back the next day.

There's lots of places to lodge, and this year I'll probably try to go back to the Rio Vista since they've done single nights in the past.

Heya!

Date is pretty set at this point, though the route is tentative. The last 2 years have been pretty late as far as Route 20 opening, but I had been doing it in early May previously.

Basically, I'm going to leave from somewhere...probably the same place as last time (Maltby Cafe in Maltby (near Monroe)), probably around 9am.

People are welcome to take a second day if they want to stay Saturday and Sunday night, however I won't be doing that this year.

So, if people actually want to start planning lodging for themselves. plan on doing it the night of May 18th.

Dennis, I will pencil it on the calendar. Don't have a camaro either. Traded it in on a raptor. Straight line won't be an issue, cornering is a different story

Maybe it'll be a non-Camaro Camaro cruise this year!

I will say a strong "maybe"... I might be getting tickets to the Sounders vs FC Dallas that night... but I also might be giving them away, to a bigger soccer fan than me. So, we'll see.... I love that drive.

The East and West side crews are 5 miles apart on SR20. The highway should be open in a week or two.

The reopening of the North Cascades is currently scheduled for 1 p.m. next Tuesday, April 16, barring unexpected weather or equipment issues.
