Steering wheel vibration

Hey guys, I have been having very noticeable steering wheel vibration for a few thousand miles now. A while back I took it in and had the tires re-balanced (turns out some weights had fallen off). However, some of the vibration still persisted. At my next scheduled oil change a few weeks ago I had all 4 tires alligned. The vibration is still there. Any ideas on what it could be?

Have you hit any bad pot holes? Still running stock tires? Could be a few things...

I have hit some pot holes, never an "oh $h!t" pothole though. I am on stock tires, my second pair of Pirelli all-seasons.

Are you just feeling it in steering wheel or can you feel it in the brake pedal also? If you can feel it in the brake pedal it could potentially be warped rotors also.

best question yet

if its just the steering wheel its the tire and wheel balance or a flat spot on your tires or you hit something and suspension is tweeaked or you need an alignment.

if its with the brake pedal its your rotors.

I had same problem with my first 2012 v6 from factory with 100 miles, got the tires balanced and it still vibrated so i did some research and found out that they needed to be static balanced, I took it to a shop that puts road presure on tire while the spin it and they were way off. had them done and poof vibration gone. my new 2012 22 only has 600 miles on it with no vibration. but im still gonna have it done.

No vibration when I brake, it is not the rotors. Do most places offer a "static balance"?

Might even be a busted cord in the tire, or an internal sidewall split. Do you notice any bumps/bulges in your sidewalls?

You need to find a place, like mine that has a hunter road force balancer.

99% of balancers out there, are just balancers. The problem is, you can balance a star or a square, that doesn't mean that you would want to drive on one. The hunter roadforce machine uses a patented computer controlled pneumatic roller that measures any out of round and harmonics that a wheel and tire can create.

We experience this quite often on brand new camaros, typically after we install aftermarket bushings and shocks and springs, which can highlight a bad wheel and tire combo. and without our machine we would never know.

I see that your in Cali, if your not to far please stop by. and if you are give me a call and I'll help you find a shop that owns one.

Thanks
