Windshield covers on the outside of your window?
What is up with windshield covers that go on the outside of your windshield? I never heard of this until I got an email from the Chevy Mall. Why wouldn't you just get a windshield cover that goes inside your car?
Can someone help make sense of this? Here is a link to the product... http://www.chevymall.com/Camaro-Wind.../products/416/

i was just looking at this, honestly i think its a very interesting idea... i would really like to utilize this in a car show, id like to see a few on a car in person, but for 100$ if the graphics look good on it, would look neat.

For a car show maybe, but say just throughout the day. Say you put it on, go into work or someplace, and it starts raining? Now you have a soaking wet windshield cover that you need to put in your car when you leave. I dunno, just seems a little weird. Good idea for displaying your car, but thats about it imo..

At first when I got the email I thought they were only for car shows. Kind of inconvenient to have the cover on the outside of your car in rain, bird crap, pollen season etc. Then you have to roll it up and put that dirty thing in your car.
Same downsides as a car cover. |

"This windshield wrap is only for use when your Camaro is not in motion".
It's sad that they have to add that...... |

Basically used to keep frost off your windshield, I question why it is coming out just a few days before spring though... About 4 months late in my opinion.

I guess you could use it for that but why on the outside? There are plenty of products that would do as good a job that are easier to put on from the inside and for a lot less money.

That would be sweet for car shows. I think the one in the pic they give is photo shopped on though. Doesn't look like it belongs lol

I would say its not for everyday use, who wants to lower the windows, get out of the car put it on, walk around the car to run the runners through both windows, get back in the car, connect the strap then put the windows back up, repeating in reverse backwards over and over.
I would guess its for when you leave your car for extended periods of time. It protects the inside from the sun and the windshield from rain and bird droppings. So when you get back from vacation after a couple weeks of it sitting outsode, you don't have to wash all that stuff off the windshield just to get it clear enough to drive. but thats only a guess |
